How to cancel 1Password
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling 1Password — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel 1Password in 5 steps
- Sign in at start.1password.com (or your team/family account URL) from a browser.
- Open 'Billing' / 'Payment & Billing'.
- Select 'Cancel subscription' (for family/team accounts, the account owner does this).
- Export or move any vaults you want to keep before access ends.
- Confirm the cancellation and keep the confirmation email.
What happens after you cancel
Your membership stays active until the end of the current billing period, then the account is frozen (you can view but not edit items) until you delete it or resubscribe. Export your data before the period ends if you're leaving. Refunds are available within a limited window.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
1Password is billed on its website. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel there instead.
