How to cancel Amazon Prime
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Amazon Prime — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel Amazon Prime in 5 steps
- Go to amazon.com and open Account & Lists → Prime Membership (Memberships & Subscriptions).
- Select Manage Membership → End Membership (sometimes labeled "Update, cancel and more").
- Decline the retention offers Amazon shows you.
- Continue through the confirmation screens until you reach the final End Membership.
- Note the date your benefits end, and save the confirmation.
What happens after you cancel
If you haven't used any Prime benefits in the current term, Amazon often refunds the full membership fee; if you have, you may get a prorated refund or none. Access continues until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be billed again once it's confirmed.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
Amazon's cancel flow has several "are you sure?" screens designed to keep you — the FTC has taken action over this. Just keep choosing to end the membership until you see the final confirmation.
