How to cancel Backblaze

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Backblaze — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Backblaze bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Backblaze in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at backblaze.com from a web browser.
  2. Open 'My Settings' / 'Account'.
  3. For Computer Backup, cancel the licence/subscription; for B2, remove buckets and the payment method.
  4. Turn off auto-renewal or select 'Cancel'.
  5. Cancel before your renewal date and keep the confirmation.

What happens after you cancel

You keep Backblaze backup until the end of the current billing period, then it stops and your backup is retained only briefly before deletion — restore anything you need first. Backblaze prorates refunds on yearly plans in some cases. Cancel before your renewal date.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

Backblaze is billed on its website — there's no app-store subscription to manage.

Charged after cancelling Backblaze?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Backblaze — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Backblaze charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Backblaze keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Backblaze.
Does cancelling Backblaze delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Backblaze's settings.
How do I know my Backblaze cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Backblaze and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.

CancelProof records your cancellation automatically — so if you're charged anyway, you're covered.
