How to cancel BetterHelp
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling BetterHelp — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel BetterHelp in 5 steps
- Sign in at betterhelp.com from a web browser (or the app).
- Open 'Menu' → 'Account settings' → 'Payment settings' / 'Membership'.
- Select 'Cancel' / 'Change subscription' → 'Quit therapy' and follow the prompts.
- You can also message your counsellor or contact support to cancel.
- Cancel before your renewal date and keep the confirmation.
What happens after you cancel
BetterHelp bills every 4 weeks in advance. Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the current paid period. There's no long-term contract, but no refund for the current period is typical — cancel before your renewal date.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store's Subscriptions section instead of on betterhelp.com.
