How to cancel Bitbucket
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Bitbucket — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel Bitbucket in 5 steps
- Sign in at admin.atlassian.com / bitbucket.org (a billing admin cancels).
- Open 'Billing' → 'Manage subscriptions'.
- Select Bitbucket → 'Cancel subscription' / downgrade to Free.
- Cancel before your renewal date.
- Export any repositories you need and keep the confirmation.
What happens after you cancel
You keep your Bitbucket plan until the end of the current billing period, then it reverts to any free tier. Annual plans are prepaid; cancelling turns off the next renewal. Cancel before your renewal date, and export/download anything you need first.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
Bitbucket is billed on its website. If you subscribed through a reseller or app store, cancel there instead.
Charged after cancelling Bitbucket?
It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Bitbucket — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.
