How to cancel BritBox

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling BritBox — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if BritBox bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel BritBox in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at britbox.com from a web browser (cancel where you subscribed).
  2. Open 'Account' → 'Manage plan' / 'Subscription'.
  3. Select 'Cancel subscription' and follow the prompts.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — BritBox auto-renews.
  5. Confirm you receive a cancellation email.

What happens after you cancel

You keep access until the end of the current billing period, then it won't renew. BritBox generally doesn't refund the current period, so cancel before renewal.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, or Prime Video Channels, cancel through that provider — not on britbox.com.

Charged after cancelling BritBox?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from BritBox — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will BritBox charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, BritBox keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling BritBox.
Does cancelling BritBox delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in BritBox's settings.
How do I know my BritBox cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from BritBox and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
