How to cancel Busuu

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Busuu — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Busuu bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Busuu in 5 steps

  1. Cancel where you subscribed: busuu.com on the web, or your app store if you signed up in the app.
  2. Web: sign in → 'Account settings' → 'Subscription' / 'Payments' → 'Cancel'.
  3. App store: open Subscriptions and select Busuu → 'Cancel'.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — Busuu plans are often prepaid terms that auto-renew.
  5. Confirm the cancellation.

What happens after you cancel

You keep Busuu Premium until the end of the current term, then it won't renew. Plans are usually prepaid (e.g. 3/12/24 months) and auto-renew, so cancelling turns off the next renewal. Cancel before your renewal date. No refund for the current term is typical.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store's Subscriptions section instead of on busuu.com.

Charged after cancelling Busuu?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Busuu — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Busuu charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Busuu keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Busuu.
Does cancelling Busuu delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Busuu's settings.
How do I know my Busuu cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Busuu and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
