How to cancel Canva

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Canva — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Canva bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Get notified at launch

Cancel Canva in 6 steps

  1. Log in at canva.com, click your profile picture in the top-right corner, and select Account Settings.
  2. In the left sidebar, click Billing & Plans to see your subscription and renewal date.
  3. Click the three-dot menu (...) next to your plan name and choose Cancel Plan.
  4. Select a reason for cancelling and decline any discount or pause offer if you want to fully cancel.
  5. Click the final Cancel button and wait for the on-screen confirmation showing your access end date.
  6. Save the confirmation email from Canva as proof that your plan was cancelled.

What happens after you cancel

You keep your premium features until the end of the current billing period, after which your account automatically reverts to the free Canva plan. All your designs, Brand Kit, folders, and uploads stay saved in your account, but you lose paid tools like premium templates, Background Remover, and Magic Resize. Canva may offer a discount or the option to pause your plan for up to 3 months instead of cancelling outright; refunds are generally only given within a short window after a charge.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

These steps only work if you subscribed directly through Canva's website. If you signed up through the Apple App Store or Google Play, the cancel option will not be available in Canva's settings and you must cancel through that store. Apple subscribers cancel in iPhone/iPad Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Canva, and Android subscribers cancel in the Google Play app > Payments & subscriptions > Canva.

Charged after cancelling Canva?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Canva — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Canva charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Canva keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Canva.
Does cancelling Canva delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Canva's settings.
How do I know my Canva cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Canva and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
