Cancel ChatGPT Plus in 6 steps

  1. Sign in at chatgpt.com from a browser.
  2. Click your profile icon and open 'Settings'.
  3. Go to 'Subscription' (or 'My plan' → 'Manage my subscription') — this opens the billing portal.
  4. Select 'Cancel plan'.
  5. Confirm the cancellation.
  6. Check for a confirmation email from OpenAI and keep it.

What happens after you cancel

You keep ChatGPT Plus features until the end of the current billing month, then your account reverts to the free tier. OpenAI does not usually prorate refunds for the current month, so cancel before your renewal date.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you bought ChatGPT Plus in the iOS app, cancel under iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions. On Android, cancel in the Play Store → Subscriptions.
