How to cancel Coursera Plus

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Coursera Plus — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Coursera Plus bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Coursera Plus in 6 steps

  1. Sign in at coursera.org from a web browser.
  2. Open your profile → 'Settings' → 'My Purchases' / 'Subscriptions'.
  3. Find Coursera Plus (or your course/Specialization subscription) and select 'Cancel'.
  4. Cancel before your renewal or trial-end date.
  5. Decline retention offers and confirm.
  6. Keep the cancellation confirmation email.

What happens after you cancel

Cancelling stops future charges; you keep access until the end of the current billing period. Coursera offers a refund if you cancel within 14 days of an annual Coursera Plus purchase (and within limits on courses) — request it via support if eligible.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store's Subscriptions section instead of on coursera.org.

Charged after cancelling Coursera Plus?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Coursera Plus — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Coursera Plus charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Coursera Plus keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Coursera Plus.
Does cancelling Coursera Plus delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Coursera Plus's settings.
How do I know my Coursera Plus cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Coursera Plus and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
