How to cancel EA Play

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling EA Play — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if EA Play bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel EA Play in 5 steps

  1. Cancel where you subscribed: the EA app (PC), or your Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam account.
  2. PC / EA account: sign in at ea.com → 'My Subscriptions' → EA Play → 'Cancel membership' / turn off auto-renew.
  3. Xbox: Settings → Account → Subscriptions → EA Play → Cancel. PlayStation: Settings → Users and Accounts → Subscriptions → EA Play → Cancel. Steam: Account details → EA Play → Cancel.
  4. Decline retention offers and confirm.
  5. Keep the cancellation confirmation.

What happens after you cancel

You keep EA Play benefits until the end of the current billing period, then it won't renew. Cancel through the same platform you subscribed on (EA / Xbox / PlayStation / Steam). No refund for the current period is typical.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

EA Play is billed by whichever platform you signed up through — EA directly, or the Xbox, PlayStation, or Steam store. Cancel it there.

Charged after cancelling EA Play?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from EA Play — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will EA Play charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, EA Play keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling EA Play.
Does cancelling EA Play delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in EA Play's settings.
How do I know my EA Play cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from EA Play and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
