How to cancel Fido

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Fido — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Fido bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Fido in 6 steps

  1. Sign in to My Account at fido.ca or the Fido My Account app, or prepare to call Fido on 1-888-481-3436.
  2. Cancelling a Fido mobile or internet service is generally done by phone (or their online contact/chat flow).
  3. Request cancellation and confirm when service and billing will stop.
  4. Check whether you owe a balance on a device financing / Fido Payment Program agreement.
  5. Ask about any final prorated charges for the current cycle.
  6. Get a cancellation reference number and note the date.

What happens after you cancel

Fido bills to the end of your cycle, and any device-financing balance becomes due on cancellation. Month-to-month plans have no exit fee, but a financed device is paid off in full. Keep your cancellation reference and confirm the final bill.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

Fido is a Rogers sub-brand billed directly by Fido. Cancellation goes through Fido — not through any app store.

Charged after cancelling Fido?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Fido — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Fido charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Fido keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Fido.
Does cancelling Fido delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Fido's settings.
How do I know my Fido cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Fido and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
