Cancel GitHub Pro in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at github.com from a web browser.
  2. Open 'Settings' → 'Billing and plans' → 'Plans and usage'.
  3. Select 'Edit' on your plan → downgrade to Free.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — monthly and annual plans auto-renew.
  5. Confirm the downgrade.

What happens after you cancel

You keep your GitHub Pro plan until the end of the current billing period, then it reverts to any free tier. Annual plans are prepaid; cancelling turns off the next renewal. Cancel before your renewal date, and export/download anything you need first.
