How to cancel iCloud+ / Apple One
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling iCloud+ / Apple One — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel iCloud+ / Apple One in 5 steps
- On iPhone/iPad: Settings → tap your name → 'iCloud' → 'Manage Account Storage' → 'Change Storage Plan' → 'Downgrade' to the free 5 GB.
- For Apple One: Settings → your name → 'Subscriptions' → 'Apple One' → 'Cancel'.
- On a Mac: Apple menu → System Settings → your name → iCloud → 'Manage' → 'Change Storage Plan' → 'Downgrade'.
- Enter your Apple ID password to confirm.
- Before downgrading, make sure your iCloud data fits in 5 GB or back it up, so nothing stops syncing.
What happens after you cancel
You keep the paid storage until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free 5 GB. If your data exceeds 5 GB afterward, new backups and uploads pause (existing data isn't deleted immediately). Cancelling Apple One ends all its bundled services at period end.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
