How to cancel Intercom
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Intercom — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel Intercom in 5 steps
- Sign in to Intercom (the account owner/admin cancels).
- Open 'Settings' → 'Subscription' / 'Billing'.
- Select 'Cancel subscription' / turn off renewal, or contact Intercom for annual contracts.
- Give notice before your renewal date.
- Get written confirmation and keep it.
What happens after you cancel
You keep your Intercom plan until the end of the current billing period, then it stops (or reverts to any free tier). Annual plans are prepaid, so cancelling turns off the next renewal — cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
Intercom is billed on its website. If you subscribed through an app store, cancel in that store's Subscriptions section instead.
Charged after cancelling Intercom?
It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Intercom — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.
