How to cancel IPVanish

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling IPVanish — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if IPVanish bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel IPVanish in 5 steps

  1. Sign in to your account at account.ipvanish.com.
  2. Open 'Subscription' / 'Account Details'.
  3. Turn off auto-renewal / select 'Cancel', or contact support to cancel.
  4. If you're within 30 days of an eligible plan, request a refund.
  5. Confirm auto-renewal is off and keep the confirmation.

What happens after you cancel

You keep VPN access until the end of your paid term. IPVanish offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on eligible (e.g. annual) plans — request a refund within the window. Cancel before renewal to avoid the next charge.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you bought IPVanish through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel there; the refund is then handled by Apple/Google.

Charged after cancelling IPVanish?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from IPVanish — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will IPVanish charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, IPVanish keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling IPVanish.
Does cancelling IPVanish delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in IPVanish's settings.
How do I know my IPVanish cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from IPVanish and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.

CancelProof records your cancellation automatically — so if you're charged anyway, you're covered.
