How to cancel JetBrains

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling JetBrains — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if JetBrains bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel JetBrains in 5 steps

  1. Sign in to your JetBrains Account at account.jetbrains.com.
  2. Open 'Licenses' / 'Subscriptions'.
  3. Select your subscription → 'Turn off automatic renewal' / 'Cancel'.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — monthly and annual subscriptions auto-renew.
  5. Confirm the change.

What happens after you cancel

Turning off automatic renewal keeps your JetBrains subscription active until the end of the paid period, then it stops. Under the continuity discount, your perpetual fallback license (if applicable) still lets you use the version you had access to. Cancel before your renewal date.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

JetBrains is billed through your JetBrains Account. If you bought through a reseller, manage it there.

Charged after cancelling JetBrains?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from JetBrains — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will JetBrains charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, JetBrains keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling JetBrains.
Does cancelling JetBrains delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in JetBrains's settings.
How do I know my JetBrains cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from JetBrains and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.
