How to cancel Lemonade
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Lemonade — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel Lemonade in 5 steps
- Open the Lemonade app or lemonade.com and sign in.
- Go to your policy → 'Settings' / message 'Maya' (the assistant).
- Request cancellation of your policy (renters, pet, car, etc.) and pick the cancellation date.
- Ask about any prorated refund of prepaid premium.
- Get a cancellation confirmation and keep it.
What happens after you cancel
Lemonade policies can be cancelled anytime in the app; cancelling stops future premiums and ends coverage from the date you choose. Prepaid premium is typically prorated. Keep the confirmation, and note any open claims first.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
Lemonade bills the premium directly — cancellation goes through the app or website, not an app store.
Charged after cancelling Lemonade?
It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Lemonade — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.
