How to cancel Mailchimp
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Mailchimp — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel Mailchimp in 5 steps
- Sign in at mailchimp.com / login.mailchimp.com from a web browser.
- Click your profile → 'Account & billing' → 'Billing plans' / 'Monthly plans or credits'.
- Select 'Cancel account' or downgrade to the Free plan, and follow the prompts.
- Export your audience/contacts first if you're closing the account.
- Get a cancellation confirmation and keep it.
What happens after you cancel
Downgrading to Free stops billing but keeps limited access; cancelling/closing the account ends billing and, after a period, deletes your data — export first. Cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next monthly charge.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
Mailchimp is billed on its website (Intuit) — there's no app-store subscription to manage.
