How to cancel Match.com

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Match.com — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Match.com bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Match.com in 6 steps

  1. Sign in at match.com from a web browser.
  2. Click your profile icon in the top-right and open 'Settings' → 'Account' (or 'Manage Subscription').
  3. Find 'Subscription' and select 'Cancel', or turn OFF 'Automatic Renewal'.
  4. Follow the prompts and decline retention offers.
  5. Confirm that auto-renewal now shows as off / the subscription is cancelled.
  6. Save the confirmation.

What happens after you cancel

Turning off auto-renewal keeps your subscription active until the end of the paid term, then it won't renew. Match generally doesn't refund the current period, so cancel before renewal. Match is notorious for silent auto-renewal — confirm it's off and keep proof.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead — subscriptions bought via iTunes cannot be cancelled on match.com.

Charged after cancelling Match.com?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Match.com — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Match.com charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Match.com keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Match.com.
Does cancelling Match.com delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Match.com's settings.
How do I know my Match.com cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Match.com and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
