How to cancel MUBI

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling MUBI — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if MUBI bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel MUBI in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at mubi.com from a web browser.
  2. Open 'Account' → 'Subscription'.
  3. Select 'Cancel subscription' and follow the prompts.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — trials convert to the standard price automatically.
  5. Confirm you receive a cancellation email.

What happens after you cancel

You keep access until the end of the current billing period, then it won't renew. MUBI's discounted trials convert to the standard price, so cancel before the trial ends. No refund for the current period.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, or Roku, cancel through that provider instead of on mubi.com.

Charged after cancelling MUBI?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from MUBI — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will MUBI charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, MUBI keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling MUBI.
Does cancelling MUBI delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in MUBI's settings.
How do I know my MUBI cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from MUBI and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
