How to cancel Nintendo Switch Online
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Nintendo Switch Online — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel Nintendo Switch Online in 5 steps
- Sign in to your Nintendo Account at accounts.nintendo.com (or on the console: System Settings → your user → Nintendo Switch Online).
- Open the 'Shop Menu' / 'Nintendo Switch Online' → 'Membership Options'.
- Turn OFF 'Automatic Renewal' — this stops the next charge.
- Confirm automatic renewal now shows as off.
- Your membership continues until the end of the paid period.
What happens after you cancel
Turning off automatic renewal stops the next charge; your membership (and access to cloud saves) continues until the current period ends. Individual and Family plans are managed the same way. Nintendo generally doesn't refund the current period.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
Nintendo Switch Online is billed through your Nintendo Account. Turn off auto-renewal in the account or on the console — there's no separate app-store subscription.
