How to cancel NordVPN

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling NordVPN — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if NordVPN bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Get notified at launch

Cancel NordVPN in 6 steps

  1. Log in to your Nord Account at my.nordaccount.com using the email you signed up with.
  2. Open the Billing tab from the left-hand navigation menu.
  3. Find your subscription and, next to the auto-renewal status, click Cancel.
  4. In the confirmation dialog, choose Cancel auto-renewal to confirm.
  5. Check that the auto-renewal status now shows OFF.
  6. Keep the confirmation email Nord sends to your registered address as proof of cancellation.

What happens after you cancel

Cancelling turns off auto-renewal but does not cut you off immediately - you keep full VPN access until the end of your current paid term, after which the subscription simply expires. If you are within NordVPN's 30-day money-back guarantee window, you can also request a full refund by contacting support via live chat or email; refunds are generally processed back to your original payment method within a few business days. The same billing page also controls NordPass, NordLocker and bundle plans.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

The Nord Account billing page only works for purchases made directly from NordVPN. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or Amazon App Store, you must cancel through that platform instead - the Cancel button will not appear in your Nord Account. Use Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions on Apple devices, Google Play > Subscriptions on Android, or your Amazon Appstore subscriptions page. Purchases via resellers or partner promotions must be handled through that seller.

Charged after cancelling NordVPN?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from NordVPN — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will NordVPN charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, NordVPN keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling NordVPN.
Does cancelling NordVPN delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in NordVPN's settings.
How do I know my NordVPN cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from NordVPN and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
