How to cancel Overcast

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Overcast — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Overcast bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Overcast in 5 steps

  1. Overcast Premium is billed through the Apple App Store.
  2. iPhone/iPad: Settings → your name → 'Subscriptions'.
  3. Select 'Overcast' → 'Cancel Subscription'.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date.
  5. Confirm it shows as expiring.

What happens after you cancel

You keep Overcast Premium until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free version. Deleting the app does not cancel billing. No refund for the current period is typical.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

Overcast Premium is billed via the Apple App Store — cancel in Settings → your name → Subscriptions, not just by deleting the app.

Charged after cancelling Overcast?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Overcast — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Overcast charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Overcast keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Overcast.
Does cancelling Overcast delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Overcast's settings.
How do I know my Overcast cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Overcast and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.
