How to cancel PlayStation Plus
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling PlayStation Plus — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel PlayStation Plus in 5 steps
- In a web browser, go to PlayStation Account Management and sign in with the account that holds the subscription.
- Select Subscription from your account settings.
- Find PlayStation Plus and select Cancel below it, then confirm (on a PS5, go instead to Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions > Subscriptions and choose Cancel Subscription).
- Confirm the cancellation so auto-renewal is switched off.
- Save the confirmation email from PlayStation as proof that your subscription will not renew.
What happens after you cancel
PlayStation Plus renews automatically, so cancelling turns off auto-renewal; the membership stays active and is only deactivated starting from the next payment date. You keep your PS Plus benefits, such as online multiplayer and the monthly games, until the current paid period ends. Games you claimed remain playable only while an active PS Plus membership is in place.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
PlayStation Plus auto-renews and is managed through your PlayStation Network (PSN) account, not a third-party app store. Cancel it either in PSN Account Management in a web browser or directly on your console under Settings > Users and Accounts > Account > Payment and Subscriptions. If you originally subscribed through a different store or bundle, cancel through that provider instead.
Charged after cancelling PlayStation Plus?
