How to cancel QuickBooks
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling QuickBooks — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel QuickBooks in 5 steps
- Sign in at quickbooks.intuit.com from a web browser (the account admin cancels).
- Open the gear icon → 'Account and settings' → 'Billing & subscription'.
- Select 'Cancel subscription' / 'Cancel' for QuickBooks Online and follow the prompts.
- Export your company data first if you'll need it after access ends.
- Get a cancellation confirmation and keep it.
What happens after you cancel
You keep QuickBooks Online access until the end of the current billing period, then it stops; your data stays available read-only for about a year per Intuit's policy — export first to be safe. Trials convert to paid, so cancel before the trial ends.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, cancel in iPhone Settings → your name → Subscriptions instead of at quickbooks.intuit.com.
