How to cancel RuneScape

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling RuneScape — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if RuneScape bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel RuneScape in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at runescape.com from a web browser.
  2. Open 'Settings' → 'Billing' / 'Subscriptions'.
  3. Select your membership → 'Cancel' / turn off recurring payment.
  4. Confirm the cancellation.
  5. Verify recurring billing shows as off.

What happens after you cancel

Turning off recurring payment keeps your membership active until the end of the paid period, then it stops. Your account and progress are preserved; you can resubscribe anytime. No refund for the current period is typical.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you bought membership through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Steam, cancel in that provider's subscription settings instead of on runescape.com.

Charged after cancelling RuneScape?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from RuneScape — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will RuneScape charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, RuneScape keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling RuneScape.
Does cancelling RuneScape delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in RuneScape's settings.
How do I know my RuneScape cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from RuneScape and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.
