How to cancel Semrush

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Semrush — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Semrush bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Semrush in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at semrush.com from a web browser (the account owner cancels).
  2. Open 'Profile' → 'Subscription info' / 'Billing'.
  3. Select 'Unsubscribe' / 'Cancel subscription' and follow the prompts.
  4. Do this at least a few days before your renewal date — Semrush requires cancelling before renewal.
  5. Get a cancellation confirmation and keep it.

What happens after you cancel

You keep Semrush until the end of the current billing period, then it stops. Semrush bills in advance and generally doesn't refund the current period, so cancel a few days before your renewal date. Keep the confirmation.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

Semrush is billed on its website — there's no app-store subscription to manage.

Charged after cancelling Semrush?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Semrush — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Semrush charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Semrush keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Semrush.
Does cancelling Semrush delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Semrush's settings.
How do I know my Semrush cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Semrush and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.
