How to cancel Shaw

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Shaw — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Shaw bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Shaw in 6 steps

  1. Shaw is now part of Rogers — sign in to your Shaw/Rogers account, or call to cancel (Shaw: 1-888-472-2222).
  2. Request cancellation of your Internet, TV, or Home Phone service by phone or their online contact flow.
  3. Ask when service and billing will stop, and whether any notice period applies.
  4. Check for any remaining term commitment or equipment balance.
  5. Return any rented Shaw equipment (modem, gateway) to avoid non-return charges.
  6. Get a cancellation reference number and note the date.

What happens after you cancel

Shaw services (now under Rogers) are typically cancelled by phone. You're billed to the end of the cycle, and any term commitment may carry an early-cancellation fee. Return rented equipment promptly. Keep your cancellation reference and confirm the final bill.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

Shaw bills you directly. Since the merger, Shaw accounts are increasingly managed through Rogers — check which brand your bill comes from.

Charged after cancelling Shaw?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Shaw — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Shaw charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Shaw keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Shaw.
Does cancelling Shaw delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Shaw's settings.
How do I know my Shaw cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Shaw and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
