How to cancel Shudder

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Shudder — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Shudder bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Shudder in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at shudder.com from a web browser.
  2. Open 'Account' → 'Membership' / 'Subscription'.
  3. Select 'Cancel membership' and follow the prompts.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — trials convert automatically.
  5. Confirm you receive a cancellation email.

What happens after you cancel

You keep access until the end of the current billing period, then it won't renew. Shudder's free trial converts to paid, so cancel before it ends. No refund for the current period.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Amazon, Roku, or Prime Video Channels, cancel through that provider instead of on shudder.com.

Charged after cancelling Shudder?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Shudder — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Shudder charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Shudder keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Shudder.
Does cancelling Shudder delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Shudder's settings.
How do I know my Shudder cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Shudder and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
