How to cancel SiriusXM
A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling SiriusXM — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.
Cancel SiriusXM in 6 steps
- Sign in to your account at siriusxm.com and open the Online Account Center.
- Go to the Subscriptions tab to view your active plan.
- If an online cancel option is available, select Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts; otherwise use the chat option or call to cancel.
- To cancel by phone, call SiriusXM Listener Care at 1-866-635-2349 during business hours and tell the agent you want to cancel.
- Decline any discount or retention offers if you truly want to end service, and confirm the cancellation.
- Save the confirmation email or note the agent's confirmation number as proof of cancellation.
What happens after you cancel
SiriusXM often requires you to call or use live chat to cancel rather than a simple online button, and agents typically push retention offers and discounted rates to keep you. Your subscription remains active and stops at the end of the current billing cycle, so you keep listening until then. Cancel more than 24 hours before your renewal date, or the plan may renew and bill you again.
Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?
If you subscribed through a third party, the account-center steps will not work. Subscriptions billed through the Apple App Store, Google Play, Roku, or T-Mobile must be cancelled with that provider directly. Vehicle trial or bundled subscriptions are managed by SiriusXM but usually still require a phone call to 1-866-635-2349 to cancel.
Charged after cancelling SiriusXM?
It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from SiriusXM — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.
