How to cancel Smartsheet

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Smartsheet — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Smartsheet bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Smartsheet in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at smartsheet.com (the plan admin cancels).
  2. Open 'Account Administration' → 'Plan & Billing Info'.
  3. Select 'Cancel plan' / turn off auto-renew, or contact support.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date — annual plans auto-renew.
  5. Get written confirmation and keep it.

What happens after you cancel

You keep your Smartsheet plan until the end of the current billing period, then it stops (or reverts to any free tier). Annual plans are prepaid, so cancelling turns off the next renewal — cancel before your renewal date to avoid the next charge.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

Smartsheet is billed on its website. If you subscribed through an app store, cancel in that store's Subscriptions section instead.

Charged after cancelling Smartsheet?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Smartsheet — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Smartsheet charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Smartsheet keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Smartsheet.
Does cancelling Smartsheet delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Smartsheet's settings.
How do I know my Smartsheet cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Smartsheet and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.

CancelProof records your cancellation automatically — so if you're charged anyway, you're covered.
