How to cancel Stan

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling Stan — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if Stan bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel Stan in 6 steps

  1. Sign in at stan.com.au from a web browser (you can't cancel inside the app).
  2. Open 'Account' → 'Manage Account' / 'My Account'.
  3. Select 'Close Account' / 'Cancel Subscription'.
  4. Confirm the cancellation and decline any offer to stay.
  5. Cancel before your monthly renewal date — Stan bills monthly in advance.
  6. Check for the cancellation confirmation email and keep it.

What happens after you cancel

You keep watching Stan until the end of the current billing month, then it stops renewing. Stan bills monthly in advance and generally doesn't refund the current month, so cancel before your renewal date. Your watchlist is kept if you rejoin later.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you subscribed to Stan through Telstra, the Apple App Store, or Google Play, cancel through that provider instead of on stan.com.au.

Charged after cancelling Stan?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from Stan — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will Stan charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, Stan keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling Stan.
Does cancelling Stan delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in Stan's settings.
How do I know my Stan cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from Stan and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.
