How to cancel TunnelBear

A quick, up-to-date guide to cancelling TunnelBear — and keeping proof that you did, in case you're charged anyway.

Before you click cancel: the moment you cancel is exactly when proof matters. CancelProof records your cancellation — the pages, the clicks, the confirmation — so if TunnelBear bills you after you cancel, you have a refund pack ready. Add to Chrome — Free

Cancel TunnelBear in 5 steps

  1. Sign in at tunnelbear.com from a web browser.
  2. Open 'Account' → 'Subscription'.
  3. Turn off automatic renewal / select 'Cancel'.
  4. Cancel before your renewal date.

What happens after you cancel

You keep TunnelBear until the end of your paid term, then it reverts to the free tier. Turn off auto-renewal before your renewal date. Refunds are handled case-by-case by support.

Subscribed through Apple, Google, or another provider?

If you bought TunnelBear through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel there; the refund is then handled by Apple/Google.

Charged after cancelling TunnelBear?

It happens more than it should. If a charge lands after you cancelled, here's how to get your money back from TunnelBear — and why documented proof is what makes the difference.

Frequently asked questions

Will TunnelBear charge me after I cancel?
It shouldn't. After you cancel, TunnelBear keeps your access until the end of the billing period you've already paid for, then stops billing. If a charge still appears, see our guide on being charged after cancelling TunnelBear.
Does cancelling TunnelBear delete my account?
No. Cancelling stops future billing but usually keeps your account so you can return later. Deleting your account is a separate action in TunnelBear's settings.
How do I know my TunnelBear cancellation worked?
Look for a cancellation confirmation email from TunnelBear and check that your account shows the plan ending. Keeping that confirmation — an email or a screenshot — is your proof if there's ever a dispute.

Cancelling something? Keep the proof.

CancelProof records your cancellation automatically — so if you're charged anyway, you're covered.
